New dielectric material may lead to true... →
We’re hard up for a legitimate replacement for traditional batteries in high-amp applications. Let’s hope this one pans out. Unrelated side note - I’m making this post from my cell phone while waiting for a movie to start at Otakon in Baltimore. I heart technology.

Interesting Fact - CRACKED.com Is Funny →
I always remember Cracked as the poor kid’s MAD Magazine. Dumb comics and slightly rude jokes that weren’t quite as good as the real thing. Turns out that Cracked has turned into a humor editorial / aggregate website that really doesn’t suck. Think Maxim or FHM if you took out all the nekkid. Their original articles are quite good, and they also compile choice lists /...

Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Tumblr is great for a lot of reasons, but the one thing they’re lacking is a comment system. It has been “in progress” for a while but frankly I’m tired of waiting. I’m enabling comments with a Haloscan script until Tumblr gets their shit together. This system requires that I manually add the comments link to each post, so I’m only going back and adding them...

According to the article, 20% of adult Americans seem to think the sun revolves around the earth. I really wish this was some sort of joke, but the NY Times isn’t exactly renowned for its sense of humor . (via Digg)

United States Declaration of Independence →
Happy independence day everybody! Two hundred and thirty two years ago today, a bunch of liberal rabble-rousers gave their oppressive and corrupt government the proverbial middle finger. They had had it up to here and they weren’t going to take it any more. It’s funny, the tyrant they were denouncing was named George too.

True Believers - Why There's No Dispelling The... →
Irrational beliefs intrigue me.  I always enjoy reading articles like this which try to explain why people will cling to irrational concepts to the death - despite a complete lack of supporting evidence or a mountain of contrary evidence.
