Nanomaterial turns radiation directly into... →
Holy free energy, Batman!  Apparently scientists have found yet another use for carbon nanotubes - Converting radiation directly into electricity.  By packing the tubes with gold and immersing the carbon-gold canolis in lithium hydride, Scientists can create tiles that are up to 20 times more powerful than conventional thermoelectric nuclear batteries. This is big news for the space program...

What if Google threw a party and all the internets were invited? OK, this isn’t exactly new, but I found another great video today from Those Aren’t Muskets! and it reminded me that I meant to post this a couple weeks ago.  I can’t believe nobody has picked these guys up for a TV series yet.  You’d think Lorne Michaels would be all over them.

Breast Cancer 'Master Gene' Breakthrough →
I don’t often post legitimate medical breakthroughs, but this is big enough to warrant a mention.  Scientists at several hospitals have been working together to pinpoint the gene that causes breast cancer, and it looks like they’ve found the culprit.  They have been able (in the lab, at least) to not only halt the spread of the cancer, but also to turn cancerous cells into normal,...

He’s like a security blanket woven from pure spun stupid.

Do Networks Ignore Sci Fi Fans? →
Screenrant.com attempts to explain why seemingly beloved SciFi shows receive poor ratings and often end up prematurely canceled.  His attempt to fix the indisputably broken Nielsen rating system is admirable, but probably insufficient.  As more people  watch TV through “smart” set top boxes, you have to wonder when the networks will get their heads out of their asses and simply monitor...
