As you may or may not know (if you don’t, maybe you should read the news once in a while), Australia is in the process of building a firewall to censor the internet.  Joining fun-loving countries like China and Iran, they have compiled “secret blacklists of child pornography sites” that no Australian is able to access.  Predictably, the secret list leaked to the internet.  Even more predictably, much of it has nothing to do with pornography.

Enter the anti-censorship group GetUp.  They’ve created this amusing video which explains why government censorship - for any reason - is not a good idea.  They’re trying to raise enough money to get the video played as a commercial on Quantas flights (which have TVs at every seat, and a very captive audience).  I don’t have any money to send them, but I do wish them luck.  (via Boingboing)
