[Insert Witty Title Here]

Remember that “Machete” trailer I posted a couple months ago?  Well now there’s another one, and it turns the badass up to 11.  Maybe even 11.5.  (via IGN)

Just when you thought that there were only two movies vying for the title of “badassest film of the year” (Kick Ass and The Expendables), a third horse enters the race.  Machete’s timing couldn’t be better - set in Arizona and revolving around the war on illegal immigration, this oldschool mexploitation flick looks destined for glory.  Damn, I can’t wait to see this.  (via Ain’t it Cool News)

The Expendables cannot possibly be as awesome as the trailer makes it out to be, but I hope it is.

Remember when action movies didn’t suck?  Back in the 80s, all you needed were some muscled-up, wise-cracking heroes, all the guns in the world, and one metric fuck-ton of explosions.  No over-done slow-mo camera tricks, no CGI, no reboot of a remake of a TV series based on a comic book, and no Michael “jackass” Bay dicking it all up.

The Expendables is bringing the awesome back to action movies.  I can’t wait.

The latest episode of Motherboard features a short (16 min) documentary about a Wisconsin trucker who reverse-engineered the designs of the two bombs that were dropped on Japan at the end of WWII.  The world would be a very boring place if it weren’t for obsessive geeks.  (via Digg)

Redneck High Speed Photography
Flickr user Nebarnix has an absolutely amazing collection of high speed photographs.  In true redneck fashion, all of his equipment is home-made, including the laser-triggered 45KV flashbulb.  Also in true redneck fashion, nearly all of his photos are of things being shot with a rifle or being blown up with firecrackers.  The slideshow is stunning.  (via Digg)
