[Insert Witty Title Here]
Memes have a short lifespan.  They’re the coolest thing in the world for about a month, and then you’re so sick of them you want to kill the entire internet for not dropping it already.
The song chart meme is the exception to the rule.  This will never stop being awesome.

In the sort of bureaucratic clusterfuck that can only happen in Russia, the band Deep Purple has been fined several thousand dollars for “illegally” performing their own songs.  You’ll have to follow the link for the details, because typing them out would just make  my head hurt.

Kutiman’s ThruYou project is the god damned awsomest thing I’ve seen on Youtube in a long time.  I love mashups, and this is one of the most creative and technically complex mashup projects I’ve ever seen.  The fact that the songs he crates are actually really good is a bonus.  If you don’t think sampling is an art, then this should change your mind.   (via BoingBoing)

Imagine a band that is one part Mother’s Milk era Chilli Peppers, one part Anthrax, one part Biohazard, and a bit of Faith No More thrown in for good measure.  Now imagine they’re Japanese.  That band you’re thinking of is Maximum The Hormone.  This is their video for Bikini Sports Ponchin.

I know what you’re thinking: “But J-Pop is lame!”  This isn’t J-Pop my friend, this is J-Awesome.  (via Boingboing)

Argentinian family band Gauchos could kick eleven kinds of shit out of Hanson.  I don’t care if the video is two years old, this cover of Iron Maiden’s The Trooper is unreal.  (via Digg)

Mikael Gorbachov - Splotch-headed leader of the USSR, or axe-wielding, zombie fighting badass?  As the Russian metal band ANJ shows us, he was both.  Na zdorovje!  (via Boingboing)

Fuck me sideways, this kid is good.  I can’t believe I’ve somehow missed Bo Burnham until now.  From the filthiest nerdcore rap you’ve ever heard to the filthiest folk balads you’ve ever heard, he sings them all.  Not only are the songs raunchy enough to make Dice blush, they’re also really clever.  I dig clever.

If you enjoy “New Math”, then I highly recommend you head over to his site and check out his other videos.
